Position of Mrs. Kumkum Sinha in BSG

As I was also a scout in my school days and participated in a state’s jamboorie held in Naugaon in 1956. Having read the news piece [Mrs. Kumkum Sinha Appointed Commisioner (NE Region) of the BSG]I was overwhelmed and thought of giving a brief about Bharat Scouts & Guides for the readers of this blog.

This is a voluntary non political, educational movement for young people conceived by Lord Baden Powell in 1907. The purpose of the movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their physical, intellectual, social and spiritual as individual, as responsible citizens and as member of the local, national, and international communities.

I would like to give a small organizational chart which will give the position of Mrs. Kumkum Sinha as National H.Q .Commissioner for Scouts and Guides. The vice President of India is the patron of B.S&G. The organization Chart is headed by a President and six Vice Presidents and followed by the National Commissioner.



One of the National HQ Commissioners is Mrs. Kumkum Sinha.

She is the first Lady Commissioner appointed for North Eastern states and it brings pride to our Bishnupriya Manipuri community. Kudos to her and all the other unknown champions of our community who are excelling in their own fields and bringing prestige and honour to us all.

    Congrats to Rebati Mohan Sinha on that enlightening and nostalgia-filled atticle on Bharat Scounts and Guides. It is extremely timely - when the country's youth is losing interest in joining the prestigious Indian armed forces.Unlike in Israel and some other nations, where military service is mandotory (to school-level),the BS&G is an excellent initiation programme that needs to be revived with gusto.Best wishes - Ravi V.Chhabra (www.fnbworld.com)

Assam Search Engine: Bisarok

Exclusive search engine on Assam Manash Pratim Gohain, TNN Jun 16, 2012, 01.46PM IST NEW DELHI: Assam got its own search engine ' Bisarok '. The search engine has been launched to get results exclusively on queries and information related to Assam. 'Bisarok', means 'to search' in Assamese language, has been launched and has been linked to various websites of the Government of Assam and departments, educational institutions and media. The search engine is likely to give a new online experience related to searches on Assam. Built on Google custom search engine, the search engine would be collating and building a database of web properties exclusively of the state in the North East region. 'Bisarok' has been developed by RK Rishikesh Sinha, who had earlier created a similar custom search engine ('Bisarei') on Bishnupriya Manipuri.
