To those absentees in the Delhi Utsav

True, the Delhi Utsav received overwhelming response in terms of attendance, above 300 to 400 Bishnupriya Manipuri people got assembled in the occasion. However, many people didn't turn up for the celebration.

To the question, why they have not been able to be the part of the celebration, if one spent few moments thinking about them, a list of bizarre and serious reasons do come to ones mind.

Minus those people who intentionally saved their face from the congregation, there would be those unlucky persons of their condition they failed to participate in the celebration.

The celebration was not only for those who attended the function; it was for the absentees, their families as well. After all, the occasion was the 139 Birth celebration of Sri Sri Bhubaneshwar Sadhu Thakur. As a community we must give a thought to them as well, the reasons behind their absence.

It should not happen that in the celebration, we have forgotten them. Especially in the metro cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, their absence do ring a bell to anyone's mind. Why not? Since living in these cities, sustenance is a big trouble, a challenge in itself.

Those faces that were visible in the celebration held last year in Delhi were no more this time. It seems their absence have been balanced by army of new faces.

Health is one reason, for which many people failed to turned up for the occasion. Their bad health restricted them to celebrate the occasion alone within the four walls of their room. It is not that they have missed us, missing the whole gathering. I would say we all have missed them squarely.

However, there is another section of absentees, the youngsters in particular, about them we must think. Our combined attention must go towards them. They are those, who were not able to subsist themselves in these metro cities. They left these cities; take Delhi because their expectations were not meet. They didn't get jobs of their choice, is one reason. Second, their skill was not at par with the market demand. Third, the new environment didn't suit them, may be counted among reasons for which they had left, leaving us all alone to celebrate the utsav.

Thanks for your kind/supportive words, Rishi! as I am among one of those who couldn’t attend the Utsav due to health problem. You might aware about the condition I am going through for the last few months, however, your these words really touched me and make me realise that how unfortunate I am for missing such a grand and Holy occasion. I came to know about the success story only through this blog (Thanks to this blog) and I regret for my bad health condition for which I could not be a part of this celebration but I must appriciate and thank you and all the volunteers for putting in their efforts to make it a grand success.

I hope all my friends and relatives must have prayed to Sri Sri Bhubhaneshwar Sadhu Thakur for my good health which will surely make me capable enough to be a part of any social ocassion in future.

A short history of the Bishnupriya Manipuri and their religio-cultural consciousness
