An unexpected surprise

Surprises come in many hues.

surprise!

While maintaining this blog for five years, I have encountered lot of astonishing surprises from the readers. Some readers take me

  1. as an old person.
  2. as a retired person.
  3. as a person having a wide network of contacts.
  4. as a person who knows each and every Bishnupriya Manipuri people.
  5. as a person who is an expert in the subaltern subject, the Bishnupriya Manipuri.
  6. with surprise that I am the person who maintains this blog! 
And some, do not even want to acknowledge me as a person who does many invisible work behind this blog.

All the above four points are wrong. I am not old and retired. Neither I am an all-know person nor I know each and every individual. About the fifth point, ‘Yes’ I would like to understand it.

Besides this, I didn’t know that there was another surprise stored for me. How it was unfurled?

Recently I got introduced to a boy who recently came from Guwahati to Delhi. As soon as he came to know that I am a Bishnupriya Manipuri, he said: Assamese papers in Guwahati were awestruck with our Bishnupriya Manipuri achievements in the Internet. It had created lot of discussions there [in Guwahati]. In his words: How a small community could have created a mammoth online literature in Wikipedia? — is the centrality of the discussion.

It was a huge surprise for me. I quickly asserted to my new friend that whatever he has read is the secondary effect of the first article published in the Assam Tribune. And I am the writer of that piece: Online Culture.

It was a great surprise for me since I didn’t know that an article written by me would be travelling a distance. Indeed! It travelled.

Assam Search Engine: Bisarok

Exclusive search engine on Assam Manash Pratim Gohain, TNN Jun 16, 2012, 01.46PM IST NEW DELHI: Assam got its own search engine ' Bisarok '. The search engine has been launched to get results exclusively on queries and information related to Assam. 'Bisarok', means 'to search' in Assamese language, has been launched and has been linked to various websites of the Government of Assam and departments, educational institutions and media. The search engine is likely to give a new online experience related to searches on Assam. Built on Google custom search engine, the search engine would be collating and building a database of web properties exclusively of the state in the North East region. 'Bisarok' has been developed by RK Rishikesh Sinha, who had earlier created a similar custom search engine ('Bisarei') on Bishnupriya Manipuri. A short history of the Bishnupriya Manipuri and their religio-cultural consciousness

Undoubtedly, the accurate period of the emergence or the development of religious consciousness of the Bishnupriya Manipuri is difficult to ascertain, but it is an old one that is undoubted, writes Rini Sinha , Guwahati .
