The Janmabarshiki Tithi of Shri Shri Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur was celebrated in Mumbai with great enthusiasm on 30th October 2011. Mumbaites slogged during day and also put their effort all Saturday night till wee hours of Sunday in an effort to make the celebration a grand success. The decoration team included Sculpturist Manas Sinha, Bapon Sinha and their team.
On this occasion, maximum numbers of Bishnupriya Manipuris of Mumbai gather at one place. They celebrate the Janmabarshiki and also meet and greet each other. Giri-Githanis from all over Mumbai and also from Pune assembled at Utsav hall, Bhayender(East), Mumbai to make the function a colourful one.
The days programme included Moorti Sthapon, Puja and Aaroti, Baishnav Bhojan, Prasad distribution and Bhoogan, Cultural Programme and Sandhya Aaroti.
The cultural programme was started with lightning of the lamp by chief guest Kadambini Devi, welcome speech by Bobby Sinha, life sketch of Shri Shri Bhubaneswar Sadhuthakur by Rebati M Sinha. There was standing ovation for registration of Bishnupriya Manipuri Kalyan Samity, Mumbai. Melodious songs were sung by Bhojpuri song fame Indrani Sharma, cultural programme co-ordinator Biju-Sir Sinha, Indrani Sinha, Prithiraj Sinha, Sujit Sinha and Kapalkundala Sinha. The dance performances included a Manipuri Group dance and Assamese Group dance by Mitu, Shyamoli, Guddu, Maya and Sona; Boogi-Woogi fame Ankit Sinha; daughters of Shri Janagati Sinha; and Kapalkundal Sinha. Team Mumbai felicitated Anupam Sinha for admission of his son Avinash Sinha in IIT, Kharagpur. The cultural programme was beautifully anchored by Gautam Sinha.
Bishnupiya Manipuri Kalyan Samiti, Mumbai thanks all Giri-Githanis and their families who attended the function and also to those who could not make it due to their busy professional pre-occupations for their genuine well-wishes, which only could make the celebration of Janmabarshiki of Shri Shri Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur a grand success.
